We also interviewed Codie on her fashion loves & must haves
What first sparked your love of fashion?
I think the fact that when I was much younger, I had access to Fashion TV on Foxtel. They would constantly be playing the latest runway shows from all around the world, as well as interviewing designers. It was incredibly intriguing to a then eight year old me.
Who’s your style crush?
Who’s your favourite designer?
International wise, my favourite designer would have to be Olivier Rousteing who is the head designer for Balmain. To me Balmain is constantly pushing the envelope. He knows how to dress a woman and there is something so powerful and strong about his designs.
Nationally, my favourite designer would have to be Camilla Franks and Nicky and Simone Zimmermann. Camilla and Zimmermann are both different ends of the spectrum in terms of design and style. Camilla being more bold in colours and Zimmermann being more feminine. However, they both embody the essence of Australian style that being centred around dressing to feel confident and beautiful. Plus the attention to detail, craftsmanship and quality of their designs are impeccable.
What is your favourite fashion blog?
I love Helen Chix, her style is so bright and vibrant and she is always wearing one of my
favourite designers, Camilla! Also love Friend in Fashion.
If you could swap wardrobes with anyone, who would it be?
Definitely Nadia Bartel or Pia Muehlenbeck.
How would you describe your personal style?
It all depends on how I feel. I am very much a minimalist, but on the other hand I love making a statement. I think I am a combination of minimalist, feminine, on trend and a little bit of bohemian.
What are you wardrobe essentials?
Living in Queensland, I live in t-shirts and singlets. My go to for T-shirts is Aje and I love my shoestring t-back tops by Camilla. A pair of denim shorts and a denim skirt is a must for me. I love dresses and playsuits too, there is something about having an entire outfit already sorted that puts the mind at ease. For shoes, definitely a nude heel and a pair of cute flats! In terms of bags, I am definitely a small bag type of person so a clutch and a slightly bigger bag with a strap is ideal.
What’s your favourite outfit that you have posted so far?
By far the Zimmerman Lovelorn Floral Flutter dress, completely head over heels in love with that outfit!
What’s your favourite Style Secret handbag?
By far the hardest question out of all of them! I will say I am completely biased towards Saint Laurent bags, so in that case I will have to say the Saint Laurent Nude Tassel Satchel and the Saint Laurent Pink Camera Bag. I’ll have to say that when I saw the new Gucci Dionysus Blooms Chain Print Bag, I fell in love!
